Online Safety
Online Safety at School
We provide parents with information about how to keep their child safe online through letters, resources on our website and through information meetings and workshops. We also teach children how to stay safe when using the internet and other technologies through our e-safety curriculum. It is essential that all parents remain vigilant to the dangers posed when children are online and have appropriate safeguards in place at home. This includes ensuring that children are not able to access films and games that have an age rating older than they are.
Social Media and Photographs at School
We ask parents when taking photographs at school events not to put any photos or videos on the internet that include other children in order to respect the privacy and safety of children in the school who may be at risk if their image is posted online. Parents who do not comply with this request will not be allowed to bring devices such as cameras, camera phones, iPods to school events.
Mobile Phones
We do not encourage children to bring mobile phones to school. If parents have a necessity for their child to have a mobile phone for safety reasons, such as walking home on their own in Year 6, these must be named and handed in to the school office at the start of the day for safe- keeping and collected at home time.
Please do not use your mobile phones in school at any time: they should remain on silent at all times. If there is an emergency, please leave any area where children are to answer or make a call.
During a class worship, you make take photographs or video your own child. However, for safeguarding purposes, please ensure these are never shared on any social media sites and are for your own use.
