Wellbeing Support
myHappymind
We have introduced a program to all year groups at school called myHappymind. myHappymind is all based around helping children to understand how their brain works and to support them in developing positive skills and habits to be their very best selves!
myHappymind is delivered in schools by class teachers through a series of interactive lessons and then the children apply these learnings throughout the day.
To further embed this learning, myHappymind has developed a Parent App. These resources can be accessed online on your computer, or through an app on your phone. The Parent App will support you as a parent in understanding what your child is learning, activities for you to do together at home and also a Kids Zone featuring myHappymind Games plus much more!
To access these materials just go to https://myhappymind.org/parent-resources to create your free account. You will need to enter your name, email, and authentication code.
Emotional Literacy Support & Home School Link
Home School Link
The school employs a Home School Link worker who is also the school’s Attendance Officer. Our Home School Link worker can advise on parenting and school issues, liaise with outside agencies and support parents in many other ways. They are part of our newly developed nurture team, and they can deliver parenting workshops, help children and families to increase school attendance, and support transition between schools. By quickly and effectively building strong, trusting relationships, our Home School Link Worker can help to solve problems before they become bigger issues. If you would like to request more information about how to access this support, or to make an appointment, please contact the school office.
What is an ELSA?
Mrs Welton and Ms Brookes are our school ELSAs. ELSAs are emotional literacy support assistants. They have had training from Educational Psychologists to support the emotional development of children in school. ELSAs have regular professional supervision to support them in their work.
How can we help?
- Emotional literacy

We work with children in a private space free from interruptions and can focus on children individually or in small groups.
We use a wide range of resources such as games, role play, art/crafts, puppets, therapeutic stories, social stories, relaxation, cooking and much more.
Inclusion Team
We are incredibly fortunate to have a wealth of experience and knowledge across our entire staff team and we want to use this as effectively as we can. If you have concerns about your child, your first step is to ask to speak to your child’s class teacher.
If you require further support, you can ask to speak to a member of our newly formed Inclusion Team. This will work like a ‘triage system’ to ensure that we match a child’s needs to the expertise and support within the school. The Inclusion Team meet every Tuesday morning and discuss how we can support a child/family. If - as a parent - you feel your child, or your family needs some additional support, please speak to the office staff and a member of the Inclusion Team will make contact with you.
Our Inclusion Team consists of the following members of staff:
- Mrs Sarah Goldsworthy - Headteacher/DSL/SENCo
- Mrs Sharon James - Deputy Headteacher/Deputy DSL
- Mrs Jo Welton - Home School Link Worker/ELSA/TALA/ Deputy DSL
- Ms Adele Brooks - ELSA/Deputy DSL
- Mr Adrian Smith - ELSA
