Vision and Values

Our vision

Our vision is for every child to be ‘Inspired to make a difference in God’s world with excellence and love’

This means that:

  • We will help children to recognise that they are unconditionally loved by God, teaching them how to love others
  • We will equip them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to achieve excellence in all aspects of their lives and to resiliently tackle challenges they encounter along the way, in order that they can make a positive difference in the world

Our core Christian values

Our core Christian values of Love, Hope, Thankfulness and Compassion are the foundations of our vision. By developing a deep understanding of these values, children will be inspired and motivated to make a positive difference in the world:

Love:  Knowing God loves us and putting others first

Hope:   Knowing that God can be relied on and believing that the world can be better (being prepared to do something about it)

Compassion:   Concern for others and acting upon it

Thankfulness:   Recognition that the things around us are a gift from God

Our children are helped to understand the Christian values of Love, Hope, Thankfulness and Compassion through the following bible stories:

Love

vThe parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke, chapter 10, verses 25-37)

vThe parable of the Lost Son (Luke, chapter 15, verses 11-32)

vRuth and Naomi (Ruth, chapters 1-4)

Hope

vNoah’s Ark (Genesis, chapter 6, verses 9-22, chapters 7-8, chapter 9, verses 1-17)

vDaniel and the Lion’s Den (Daniel, chapter 6)

vDavid and Goliath (1 Samuel, chapter 17)

Thankfulness

vJesus heals the 10 lepers (Luke, chapter 17, verses 11-19)

vJairus’ daughter (Mark, chapter 5, verses 21-43)

vElizabeth and Mary’s pregnancies (Luke, chapter 1, verses 26-56)

Compassion

vThe Lost Sheep (Luke, chapter 15, verses 1-10)

vZacchaeus the tax collector (Luke, chapter 19, verses 1-10)

vFeeding the 5,000 (Matthew, chapter 14, verses 13-21)

School prayer

Our school prayer was written collectively by our school community to mark our 60th Anniversary.

Dear Lord,

We give thanks for your son Jesus Christ,

May his life inspire us to make a difference in our world.

Let us lead by example in all we do:

To love others before ourselves,

To have hope and know the true and living God,

To show compassion to all our neighbours

To be thankful and know you as creator.

Thank you for our school, a safe place to learn and grow.

Help us show wisdom, to forgive each other and to care for all creation,

We ask this so your kingdom may be here on earth today and ever more,

Amen
